Mona has been involved with ROAR for several years and is very passionate about its mission to cure cancers in our lifetime. She is employed at The City Of Bessemer as Risk Manager and truly enjoys her job of helping people. From Chalmette, Louisiana, she attended Southeastern Louisiana University before moving to Alabama. She is married to Jimmie Stephens and they have three children Melissa, John, Matthew; and one grandchild Jack. Jimmie is a former honoree and cancer survivor. Mona began her volunteer work with the Red Cross and United Way and is now “All In” with the ladies of ROAR to raise funds to cure cancers.

Martha Deane Giles, (Deane), a native of Birmingham, is a successful business woman, starting her first retail discount store in 1979. This family business has grown into an international chain.

Deane has also enjoyed many years of being involved in the tennis community.
Her love for helping others is evident in the many charities she supports and in her active efforts in organizing fundraisers for diverse causes. Some of the charities that are close to her heart are Lovelady Center, Children’s Village, Showhope, and InSpero. Deane is a past board member of Opera Birmingham and a Director of Dixie Girl Animal Rescue.
ROAR has a place in her heart, too: “My Mother and Brother had cancer early in their life. My hope is that someday through our hard work with ROAR other families will not have their lives cut short.”

Julie’s husband, Dr. Robert Kim, is a radiation oncologist at UAB. They have two children who are also in the medical field and reside in California.
Active in the community with many non-profit organizations, Julie is a member of the American Cancer Society, Jefferson Medical Auxiliary Society, American Heart Association, UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, and board member of the Birmingham Opera Guild and Greystone Ladies Club. As fundraising chairman of ROAR, she knows first-hand the need for funding life-saving cancer research.

Suzette Fisher has lived in the Birmingham area for over 30 years with her husband Tom and two children, Alexa and Taylor. She worked as a Project Manager for a local Commercial Interior & Design Co and presently co-owns with her husband, Recycle USA Inc, a metal processing and recycling center in B'ham for over 25 years. Suzette along w
Suzette Fisher has lived in the Birmingham area for over 30 years with her husband Tom and two children, Alexa and Taylor. She worked as a Project Manager for a local Commercial Interior & Design Co and presently co-owns with her husband, Recycle USA Inc, a metal processing and recycling center in B'ham for over 25 years. Suzette along with her husband Tom both enjoy boating on Lake Martin and are members of several car clubs keeping them busy year round. Suzette chose to become a member of ROAR after her long time friend of over 20 years was taken by breast cancer and numerous others in her life also taken by this terrible disease.

Kim Bunn was born and raised right outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Her husband, Stan, lost his battle with brain cancer in 2009. She is eager to find a cure for cancer and is proud to be an active member of ROAR. Kim enjoys spending time with her daughter Chloe, and also with family and friends.

Yvonne is a member of the Birmingham Association of Realtors, a board member of the Women's Council of Realtors, the Sales Council of Birmingham Association of Home Builders, a volunteer with the Leukemia Society and the American Heart Association.
Yvonne and her family moved to Birmingham in late summer of 1975. In February of 1976 her daughter Nan was diagnosed with acute leukemia and passed away a few short weeks later. Since that time, cancer research has been her passion. ROAR is giving her that pathway to help raise money for cancer research and to find the cures.
